What you see is less than what you get. And this is where it came from: there's the Ibo and there's the Scottish Governor, at least he said he was; an Irishman who came the usual way indentured, he said he was a revolutionary and that's why; a Nubian of Kemet via Portugal.

Now there's a combination for you. And China left it's mark on the base of the indigenous Aruac-Carib. Exotic, like I say what you see is less than what you get.

Faith Hope and Charity by Alberto Pedro (may/june 2003)

Long overdue update! Sorry I have been busy.
Here is one of the reasons why. I did a play "Faith Hope & Charity" at Intar, co-produced by Woodie King.

In my opinion the play is an iconoclastic look at all positions on the left as well the right. The writer living in Cuba is a Black radical thinker who indicts all icons and philosophies while remaining a humanitarian Brechtian.

This play was misunderstood by many, who do not fully understand the syntax of Cuban references. Mr. Pedro freely challenges black/white, east/west dichotomies.

Terry Wilson, the Midnight Raver, who just continues, was very generous in sharing this award with all of us, who participated in a work of love.

Thank you to the authors for their research, commitment and challenge.

"INCIDENTS" Mizan's latest writing project & part of the River Festival.  Ensemble Studio Theatre 549 West 52 Street, 2001. Also the play INCIDENTS was in the very first launching of The Going To The River written works at the Ensemble Studio Theater. A point which was forgotten by a very disrespectful theater attendant on my last visit to EST to make a financial contribution.

"OFF THE HOOK" cameo as Mrs. Velasquez in this Hip Hop film at the Florence Guild Hall & the Pioneer Theatre, New  York 2001.
MY JOURNEY a play I wrote in the summer of 1999 and presented in Trinidad at The Normandie (Autumn 1999). Congratulations to Hillary Clinton on her best selling autobiography (2002) "My Journey" Two different journeys, one day mine will be in print.

"Ethnic Bacchanal" by Rodney Douglas
Remains outstanding to me because of the galvanizing the actors went through to get to the Vassar Brothers Theatre. I played the lead role (Gloria), but the entire cast was sterling.
